The 2025 School Sport Australia Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships took place in Rockingham, WA, under intense heatwave conditions.

Highlights from Team VIC:

Team Size: 76 athletes, plus families and supporters – a vibrant group of around 200 passionate individuals!

Medal Tally: A fantastic haul of approx. 10 individual and team medals showcasing the growing depth of talent across our Victorian squad.

Athlete Development: It was inspiring to see athletes from a range of sporting backgrounds stepping into triathlon and aquathlon with enthusiasm and determination. The progression in performance and confidence is a testament to their hard work and resilience.

Team Culture: Athletes consistently lifted one another, celebrated each other’s efforts, and built meaningful connections with peers from other states. The sense of camaraderie and team spirit was something truly special.

Cultural Experience: A standout moment was the Moorditj Noongar Boodjar Cultural Tour, which offered athletes an important opportunity to engage with the cultural history and truth-telling of the Noongar people. This was a powerful and meaningful experience for all involved.

Program Structure: The 5-day format allowed for valuable downtime, enabling athletes and families to recharge, connect, and enjoy the broader event experience together. This balance helped strengthen relationships and cultivate a fun, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere throughout the team.

Lifelong Impact: Above all, Team VIC’s goal is to create positive and lasting sporting experiences for our young athletes. Events like these not only build strong athletes, but also foster lifelong participation in sport and healthy, active lifestyles.
